Michigan Sunrise Senior Living
Description

Beginning with a single community in 1981, there are now more than 320 Sunrise Senior Living communities throughout the U.S., in Canada and the United Kingdom. Each of our communities maintains the mission laid out by Sunrise founders Paul and Terry Klaassen more than 35 years ago: to champion quality of life for all seniors.

The Klaassens’ vision to redefine senior care resulted in a resident-centered approach to care that focuses on the individuality of each resident and has set the standard in the assisted living industry. We are defined by our people. Our team of serving hearts are guided by our mission, Principles of Service and Values – all of which help encourage independence, preserve dignity and enable freedom of choice for each resident.

Amenities

At Sunrise, they offer eight activities programs, which are specifically designed to provide opportunities to Live With Purpose. Activities programs include:

Live With Action
Because physical activity is paramount to senior health and well-being, they are proud to offer activities, such as Daily Walking Clubs, aerobics classes, and strength training.

Live With Artistry
They offer many ways to express creativity through visual and fine arts, poetry and writing, dance, theater, and more, including our partnership with Museum of Modern Art’s “Meet Me at MoMA” program.

Live With Anticipation
They offer opportunities to tap into existing talents and pursue new goals and interests.

Live With Generosity
From community service projects to intergenerational programs, there are many ways to maintain a strong sense of human connection and purpose through fulfilling local outreach efforts.

Live With Learning
They offer book clubs, round-table discussions, guest lecturers, and more to help keep the brain happily engaged.

Live With Legacy
Our intergenerational activities provide an outlet to impart wisdom and knowledge.

Live With Melody
Their communities often partner with local music therapists and schools to create enriching musical experiences and entertainment.

Live With Reflection
They offer a number of outlets for experiencing spirituality, whatever form that may take.
