I live in the New Orleans area. The number of cases in the metro New Orleans area is very high as well as the number of deaths. Medical experts believe that Mardi Gras which was celebrated in late February but before the CDC began to alert the nation as a whole is the reason for this very high number. A large number of visitors, some from international locations, visited the city and the Mardi Gras was a perfect venue for the spreading of the coronavirus. The entire state is under a Stay At Home order as well as mandatory social distancing. As an In-Home Caregiver, I am considered Essential Personnel and am allowed to commute to and from work. No N95 masks have been given to us and no date of expected arrival is known at this time.

I’m in Temple, TX and today we went on lockdown after several new cases popped up - 6 cases, I think.

All in all, people are handling it very well other than overbuying food and staples. Our store owners are unhappy that they cannot meet all their customer’s needs because some have been so greedy. I ordered just what I needed on line in the morning and picked it up in the afternoon at the time I was scheduled for pickup. Fortunately, I received everything that I needed. There’s no need to buy everything in sight. For heaven’s sake, we have a virus going around, not food or supply shortages!!!

I in Lodi Ca. and we are just getting by! Im a senior with a heart condition so this virus can do me in. Trying to stay calm and positive. Very upset that my storage unit (Smiths Idol Storage in Lodi) is using this time of human crisis to raise our rates 20% on April 1st! No concern or compassion for everyone's financial hardships. Told me I should move my belongings to another place! How do I do that as Iam very low income? Shame on them!!

What do you think? They are FREAKING OUT! It wouldn't surprise me if people are hiding under the bed here in Bergen county, NJ!!

I am retired and doing consulting work in the Savannah/Hilton head area. We are effectively shut down even though our SC governor has not ordered it. Restaurants are only take out but it is already clear this will be challenging for many of them not equipped to handle. Schools and government are all closed and again because no one is going out, small businesses are mostly closed. And our public beaches in Hilton head are closed for the next 90 days. Our community is also effectively closed down with our restaurant only doing takeout and all of our amenities are closed. Our supermarkets and pharmacies are open but lots of items are still sometimes not available. It has been a help to do senior hours as it has been easier to get items early in the day and stay safe.
